Out of date -_-

As you can see, I'm not exactly the most dedicated person to LJ. This being one of the only posts I ever do, I might as well make it count.

Well, I had the chess tournament on march 31st. I came in 6th which, ironically, is 1 place off of the provincial cut-off. I had the misfortune to play against the top 2 finishers in my 1st and 3rd rounds. I won the other games, and therefore came out 3-2. The rest of the school collectively got a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 2 5ths.... and 1 6th.

I just realized that it has been a VERY long time since I've coded anything (several months, and not in 2007). I am looking for a new hobby, but for some reason, coding isn't striking my interest at the moment. I can't go outside and do anything until winter finally rolls away. It seemed to do so for a while, but we had a snowstorm today.

Even my favourite MMORPG's aren't doing anything. I'm pretty much finished with all the video games I've played, aside from Phoenix Wright, and KH Final Mix (and I somehow doubt it will be free anytime soon). Phoenix Wright seems to be a short game, so I'm trying to pace myself while playing it, but I don't have anything to do the rest of the time. So, I have a few options.

- Join a message board
- Post like hell on LJ
- Play an MMORPG
- Go back to coding
- Try playing chess
- Go outside despite the weather
- Watch lots, and lots of TV

None of them are particularly appealing to me. ;_;. I might have to resort to schoolwork, because we have to get 30 "credits" in grade 8. My teacher is saying that the centres for each subject aren't being used, and is therefore issuing a mandatory 1-month assignment in which I have to write about 15 2 page essays. The homework wouldn't be so bad if we had some work periods for it, or at least leniency with homework. Oh well. I'll manage. Not much else to do anyway. Incidentally, does anyone know any good video games for the PC, Gamecube, Wii, PS2, or DS?

Boredom

Yeah, I kind of have nothing to do at the moment, and I  just realized that I've been forgetting to post here for a long time. This is going to be a bit boring, because there's not much I've been doing.

Yesterday, I finally got back up to speed in DDR, as I was SO rusty and out of practice. Now I'm getting my normal B's in heavy again. Ironically, DDR stopped working now. I also got back up to speed in super mario strikers. Sadly, these were all right after the party I had on Friday.

It was the first Gender-mixed party my class has had (and was awesome), but I kept getting owned in DDR and super mario strikers because I  was rusty. I at least defended my title in super smash brothers melee.

This morning, I decided to play against the Windows Vista chess computer. and won by a large margin. The regional chess tournament for me, by the way, is on the 31st of March, and I'm still out of practice, so I'll have to play lots of games against the computer.

That's pretty much everything. I guess all I can do now is play many, many games of chess against Microsoft.

Goodbye =(

As I'd imagine you know from Erica, we are leaving for Florida today. So neither of us will see you in the near future, unless we can get WIFI, or find an internet cafe. So we're going to Disney World (finally, Mom and Dad promised we'd go several years ago).

Anyway, today went smoothly (no assignments scraped together at the last minute). 2 people came to talk to us about eating disorders and alcohol/drug addictions. Of course, it won't stop the people in my class who're going to use drugs. They were probably making up the story, because they were both just reading off a sheet of paper in a monotone voice.

Then it was lunch time. Since it was Thursday, I stayed inside for chess club. I played against Gabriel twice. the first time he won and was up 2 pawns and a bishop, and the second time I won and was up 2 bishops, a queen, a rook, and 4 pawns. Only 4 people (including me and Gabriel) showed up, and the other 2 left halfway through. Even the supervisor neglected to show up.

Then we had a language period for speeches. I'm doing mine on subconscious thoughts, feelings, decisions, and beliefs. Of course, there's not much else to report there, seeing as I haven't finished writing the speech yet. Someone's going to do it on cookies though. O_O

Then we had a spelling bee, but I didn't get to participate (not enough time). So it's over now, and no more school for 12 days. Ironically, my birthday is while I'm in Florida, so the birthday present will probably prolonged. Having gotten home about an hour ago, I decided to play against a chess computer. I tied 1 game, and won 1. Anyway, I have to go pack for Florida now.
Farley Out,
PS: If you need to contact me for some reason (which is highly unlikely), email me at blitzacetidus@gmail.com.
PPS: Chances are, I won't be checking emails until the 17th, when we get back from Florida anyway, unless we find an internet connection or an internet cafe in Florida.
PPPS: Does anyone else here play chess?

(no subject)

Well, I had my French careers project done on time today...sort of. I walked into the classroom and noticed there were a bunch of people with bristol board. Since I had done absolutely no work on said project (aside from learning that the average computer programmer earns $68 000 per year), I was kinda screwed. I realized that I might as well start, so I can at least show something for French career day. Allie sits beside me, and she's cool, so she didn't tell my French teacher. She had done her project, so she told me which categories I had to fill. So I made a powerpoint presentation with that information. Allie kept telling me that I couldn't do enough, and that I should just tell the French teacher I didn't do it. I realized that I might end up having to do so anyway, but I figured I might as well say that I almost finished it. Of course, during this entire period, Akshay (person in my class who sits in front of me and to the side) was making fun of me and saying I was going to get a terrible mark. So, at the end of the 40-minute math period, I had a project more extensive than most others. I got the projector and did the presentation. One of my friends saw the French teacher give me an A, B, and an A. Akshay only got 3 B's. More humorous yet was how my French teacher wrote the comments,"Well organized," and,"Well researched".

Also, if you know me, then you almost surely know Erica (there, Andy, I said it, therefore not being a "n00b"). You'll also know she's a geek/nerd, and you'll quickly learn that I'm the same.  One fact supporting this is that I'm a huge chess geek (3rd in regionals, going to ON provincial tournament). So, during lunch recess on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, I stay inside and play chess with the others who are going to the provincial tournament. Now, the situations I'm about to describe probably wont make much sense unless you play chess. I won the first game being up by a queen, rook, and a pawn. I won the second game up by 2 queens and a bishop. By the way, at the regional chess tournament, I knocked last year's provincial runner-up out of the provincial qualifiers.

Finally, something you probably know already from Erica, we're going to Florida on vacation tomorrow until Sunday (the one after the next one). We're finally going to Disney World again, as promised by mom and dad several years ago.

That pretty much sums up my day, although I'm looking for a new MMORPG to play. I've tried MapleStory, Runescape, Silkroad online, Flyff, and Ghost Online, but I can't really get into any of them like i did in MapleStory years ago. Also, it has to be free. Otherwise, I'll have no hobbies, and consequently spam LJ with a constant play-by-play of my life.

Just got an LJ...

Not that it really makes a difference, nobody I know except Lightning uses LJ, and my friends would give me strange looks if I asked them to join... >_>. LOOK. SEE THAT? FIRST SMILIE IN LJ. TEE HEE. (This will pass after I make my first metaphor, simile, coherent statement, controversial statement, icon, flame, actual record of daily events, and an actual reference to Farley. Needless to say, in LJ). You can tell I've never made a journal entry before, much less in live journal, as I've already run out of things to talk about. I'd tell you about my dad microwave and drowning a beagle in his sleep, but I suspect you heard from my sister. I'd tell you that I got the first issue of the first issue of the class newspaper in my school, but I doubt anyone really cares, seeing as it's strictly observed by the teacher. The most colorful thing is a horoscope... ;_; no comics =(  I'd tell you that someone came and taught me how to use a voice-text program that's bad at interpreting text. But this is no ordinary program. No, in this program, it divides your speech into TERMS. And if you say "Scratch That", it will even delete the last term! But that's not all. No, they decided to also put in "Delete That". THIS way, you can delete the last term! Just when I thought it could have no more advantages over typing, I found out that if you say "Insert before x", you can move behind wherever the word is. No primitive pointing and clicking for you! No sir! And if that's not unnecessary enough, they decided to throw in the ability to merely say "file" and achieve the same effect created by lifting your arm, moving forward and to the left, and pressing your finger down lightly. Needless to say, these commands end up being written like normal text about 50% of the time. It's amazing how much work the new programs save. LOOK. SEE THAT? FIRST ACTUAL RECORD OF DAILY EVENTS IN LJ. TEE HEE. =D
